Springtime?!

I have been getting so excited for the weather to warm up. Yesterday was beautiful! The huge piles of snow are melting and the grass is poking through (it's dead, but at least I know it's there) and I even saw the campus groundskeepers out and about this week. THEN. . . I got up this morning and it has been snowing all day! It's almost April for Pete's Sake! When is it going to end? I am just so thankful this is the last winter we will be spending in Rexburg. Anybody know of any job openings in Hawaii?!

HAPPY EASTER!

We have been so busy with school and work and EVERYTHING! The semester will be over in a few weeks and then we only have a week off before we start another semester. Ryan and I are both going to school year round this year so we can graduate in July. The good news is, the snow is finally melting and we have been enjoying the recent holidays.

For Those Who Need a Laugh...

I don't know about you but I hate the month of February. It is so dreary this time of year. I can always use something to brighten my day and this clip never ceases to make me giggle.

Rexburg Temple Dedication

This is what the temple looked like shortly after we arrived in Rexburg the summer of 2006.
The finished temple at night.
The temple on a snowy Rexburg day.

The almost-completed temple on a beautiful day.
The capstone ceremony when the Angel Moroni was placed at the top of the temple spire. It's not really easy to see but we took this picture, and some others, from the front porch of our old apartment. It is so amazing to have a temple so close to us!

We are so blessed as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to have temples where we can go and receive amazing blessings. We are especially grateful in Rexburg, Idaho to have our very own, brand new temple. The temple was dedicated this morning by President Thomas S. Monson, the new Prophet of our church. It was his first public appearance as the Prophet and a really special day for all of us in Rexburg.

Christmas Break

We have had an incredibly crazy month! Thankfully we have had a nice 3 1/2 week vacation from school. Here is a list of all the big events that have taken place for us over the past month.

  • First week of December: Ryan's parents moved from Virginia to Ribgy, Idaho (about 15 minutes away).
  • Second week of December: Finals week!
  • Third week of December: Ryan and I traveled to Washington to take care of Leslie and Jesse (and Kevin a little bit too) while my parents spent a week in Mexico to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
  • December 23rd: We celebrated Ryan's sister's birthday with his family
  • December 24th: Ryan celebrated his 25th birthday. I made dinner and dessert for everyone!
  • December 25th: Christmas with Ryan's family
  • December 31: Drove to Salt Lake to visit friends
We had a wonderful Christmas break and managed to relax some too. We usually prefer to stay home when there is a snow storm and we have not had a lack of snow this winter. We head back to class tomorrow. I'm sure that this new year will continue to be as busy as ever!

Decorating the Christmas tree.

Making a gingerbread house with Leslie and Jesse in Washington.

The finished project! We had way too much fun making it.

The beginning of the snow. We will probably see grass again some time in March. I may go crazy before then.

New House

In September we moved back to Rexburg to finish school. I finally feel like we are moved into our townhouse. Here are a few pictures of our new living room. There will be more pictures to follow. Quite frankly I am waiting until the other rooms in the house are clean to take any pictures of them and it could be a while!

We bought the coffee table and the TV stand at DI and painted them black. It was hard work but they look so good!
