4 Weeks Old
Today Nathan is 4 weeks old. I can't believe it! He is getting more fun every day. He has recently discovered that his fingers are nice to suck on and he has found his voice. Mostly he makes a lot of grunting and growling noises. He's all boy! He still has all his dark hair, styled in what we like to call "the baby mullet". He's a good eater and a good sleeper (most of the time) and is still really laid back and mellow. He is also very strong, (not surprising, since he wiggled so much in my tummy) and he often rolls himself onto his back when I put him on the floor for tummy time. We can't wait to see what we learn about him next!

Nathan's First Sunday
Today we took Nathan to church for the first time (just sacrament meeting, I'm not ready to try all 3 hours quite yet). He was asleep most of the time so we actually got the enjoy the meeting. I know I should take advantage of this while it lasts. Here's a little Nathan update:
He is now 3 1/2 weeks old. We took him to the Dr on Tuesday and he weighed 8lbs 15 oz (46%) and was 21 3/4 in long (79%). So, he is tall and skinny. Hmm . . . I wonder where he gets that from! He is still a very good baby, although he certainly has his days!
Ryan and Heather update:
We are still very anxiously waiting to find out where we are headed for grad school this fall. Right now nothing seems to be working out like we want it to and it's getting very frustrating. Hopefully by the end of the week we will have a plan. Hopefully. I don't have much to update about myself, except that I feel more like I have the hang of motherhood and I am glad to be mostly recovered physically (nobody told me how hard recovery would be!) Some people have expressed interest in hearing my labor and delivery story and I am working on "compiling" that info so I can share it with you all. Over all, we are doing great and we are enjoying being a little family of three!
Here are a few pictures of Nathan's first Sunday.
This picture just shows how long he is getting!

Two Weeks Old
Here are some pictures of Nathan at two weeks old. He is getting so much more grown up every day. He stays awake a lot more and he no longer likes to be swaddled when he sleeps. He is still a very mellow baby and doesn't make much noise. His cheeks have gotten chubbier and he's not quite so orange now. We are enjoying so much watching him grow!
Two weeks old!
Tired but happy!
Please stop taking my picture!
Here are a few more from this past week.
We felt like we had to do something to celebrate Nathan's first Easter, so this is what we got.
One of the last times we swaddled him. He kept freeing his arms while he slept so we took that as a sign that he wanted a little more freedom. Doesn't he look so comfy?

Happy Easter
I was going to get everybody dressed up today to take a family picture for Easter but that's just not going to happen (what was I thinking?) so here are just a few more random pictures of us over the last few days. My mom and Leslie went home yesterday morning so Ryan and I are on our own now. Things are going really well but I still feel like I am living in survival mode. Tell me it gets easier than this! I keep having to remind myself that it has only been 10 days. That's not even long enough to break a bad habit but sometimes I feel like I am never going to make it. Then I look at Nathan and I think, "Okay, you can poop on me if you want to. I'll get over it!" He's just too cute!

Baby Nathan
We are home from the hospital with our beautiful new baby boy and enjoying every minute of it. He is such a good baby and rarely cries, he just makes a lot of little squeaking noises and is quickly gaining the nickname "Squeaker". We think he is a pretty good mix of me and Ryan. He's long and skinny (like Ryan) and has a fair amount of dark hair (like me). I know we made it pretty clear that we were hoping for a little red head but we think he is the cutest baby in the world just the way he is. Actually, while I was in labor, I kept imagining what he would look like, and I could not picture him with red hair at all that day. We feel so very blessed that the labor and delivery went exremely well and that it wasn't too long and that our baby is perfect and healthy. Maybe I will post some details about the birth story when a little time has passed. I don't want to think too much about it right now. I'm sure that's understandable! Enjoy a few more pictures of our little man! And let us know who you think he looks like!

Looking so cute!
I can't get captions between the rest of the pictures so here they are:

Nathan Carl Bartron
Nathan Carl Bartron was born April 2, weighing 7lbs 8oz and was 20.5 inches long.
The doctor broke Heather’s water at 8:40 and Nathan was born at 6:41. Heather did an amazing job, delivering the baby naturally without any drugs, and she and the baby are both doing great.
We will post more pictures later!

Baby News
I would just like to let everyone know that I am going to be induced tomorrow morning. Hopefully this means that we will have a baby by tomorrow night. Tomorrow is my due date and my body has been progressing really well so far. We ultimately decided that an induction is the best way to go so that my family can meet our baby before they have to leave! We plan to have pictures and info for you on the blog by Friday! Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers! Thanks so much for all the wonderful support!
